What is HTML?
Learn how HTML tags describe the structure of a web page.
You will learn
- Understand what HTML does
- Use opening and closing tags
- Nest elements correctly
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the skeleton of every website. It is not a programming language — it describes what is on the page: headings, paragraphs, images, and links.
Tags come in pairs
Most tags wrap content: <p>Hello</p>. The opening tag starts the element, the closing tag ends it with a slash.
